Good ritual. Careful technique.
A traditional safety razor deserves a little attention.
Before you shave
Read the instructions supplied with your razor. Inspect the razor and blade before use. Do not use a loose, damaged, or incorrectly fitted blade. Prepare the skin with water and a suitable shaving product.
While you shave
Take your time, use a light touch, and start with short strokes in the direction of hair growth. Avoid repeatedly passing over irritated skin. If you are new to safety razors, practice carefully before shaving hard-to-see areas.
Changing blades
Follow the supplied blade-loading instructions. Handle a blade by its short, unsharpened ends and keep fingers away from cutting edges. Make sure the head is securely closed before use.
Clean & dry
Rinse shaving residue from the razor after use, then allow it to dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish. Replace a blade that is dull, damaged, or pulling at hair.
Store & dispose safely
Keep the razor and spare blades out of reach of children and pets. Put used blades in a secure blade container and follow local disposal rules. Never leave loose blades in a drawer or waste bin.
Results vary
Shaving comfort and smoothness depend on preparation, skin, hair, and technique. If shaving causes persistent irritation, stop and seek appropriate advice.
